On behalf of the Central Committee of the Rural People’s Party and echoing the sentiments of all party cadre, we would like to heartily congratulate the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK) which is sometimes referred to in the West as North Korea, on the successful underground nuclear test held on May 25th, 2009.

As reported by KCNA and published in excerpt format from Chinese news agency Xinhua (see below) the nuclear capability has been much increased from the last test.

From henceforth, the imperialist powers of the world, who exist by sapping the life from the internationalist proletariat and oppressing the world’s masses, cannot ignore that there is in fact an alternative to imperialism – there is in fact an advocate for those who desire independence instead of croneyism; freedom instead of slavery to capital built upon the blood of foreign wars and oppression of the developing world.

Now all shall know and see that communism is in fact as vibrant as ever and that the fall of the USSR was not the end of opposition to capitalism and imperialism. The beacon of a glorious Red Dawn for humankind still is seen upon the horizon. The Democratic People’s Republic of Korea shines now, brighter than ever, as the motherland of socialism and communism and let all know that aggression against the DPRK will be perpetrated at the peril of those same aggressors.

We shall be maintaining this media outlet with frequent updates concerning this test and international reaction appropriately. Additionally, we would encourage all supporters of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea to send congratulatory messages to the DPRK on the occasion of the test.

PYONGYANG, May 25 (Xinhua) — The Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK) said on Monday it has successfully conducted “one more” underground nuclear test earlier in the day.

In a statement released by the official news agency KCNA, the DPRK government said the test was “part of the measures to bolster up its nuclear deterrent for self-defence in every way as requested by its scientists and technicians.”

“The current nuclear test was safely conducted on a new higher level in terms of its explosive power and technology of its control and the results of the test helped satisfactorily settle the scientific and technological problems arising in further increasing the power of nuclear weapons and steadily developing nuclear technology,” the statement said.

But the brief statement did not give any details about the test, including its location.

The test came after the United Nations Security Council adopted a presidential statement in late April, condemning the April 5 rocket launch by the DPRK and demanding the country “not conduct any further launch.”

Pyongyang subsequently announced it was quitting the six-party talks on nuclear disarmament and would restart nuclear facilities in protest of the UN statement.

The DPRK conducted its first nuclear test in 2006.
